In 2004, I shipped my 704 pound pumpkin all the way to Hong Kong to be carved for an exhibition. It was quite the experience, to say the least. We shipped the pumpkin out of NYC to Hong Kong with a shipping company that specializes in pershibles, all fully USDA certified. Sadly, things did not go so well on the recieving end. The crate was left to sit in the heat, and the pumpkin had started to decompose before the carving was completed. A replacement pumpkin was quickly obtained from my friend Scott, and they had a beautiful pumpkin to carve in Hong Kong in less than 3 days.
